There is quite a bit of work and cost that goes into setting up and hosting a virtual event. First, you must decide if it’s a webinar or teleseminar, then whether it’s paid or free. You have to decide the goal of the event, select a service to manage the event, coordinate with your JV Partners, coordinate with your affiliates, write sales copy and sales letters, create autoresponders, design a marketing and sales funnel for the event, hold hands, build excitement, plus a whole lot more!
The biggest challenge most coaches face is deciding WHERE to promote an event so that they can fill the available “seats” and create the desired outcome. Below is a list of 22 places to promote your virtual events:
1. Your website
2. Your newsletter or ezine
3. Your blog
4. Your affiliates
5. Your joint venture partners
6. Your strategic alliances
7. Event calendar sites
a. Full Calendar – http://sfbayarea.fullcalendar.com/
b. Events Setter – http://www.eventsetter.com/
c. Events.org – http://www.events.org/
8. Teleseminar/Webinar Listing Services (Free and Paid)
a. See You On The Call – http://seeyouonthecall.com/
b. Planet Teleclass – http://www.planetteleclass.com/
c. Seminar Announcer – http://seminarannouncer.com/
d. Self Growth – http://www.selfgrowth.com/
9. Twitter as a tweet
10. Facebook as a status update
11. Create a Facebook event
12. LinkedIn as a status update
13. LinkedIn on your profile
14. LinkedIn as an event
15. Other social networking sites where you are active
16. In the resource box of your articles (make sure your article is relevant to the topic)
17. Press releases
18. In your email signature
19. The listservs and discussion lists you belong to (as long as this type of promotion is allowed)
20. Forums you’re active in
21. In a Pay Per Click Campaign
22. Craigslist

Thanks Jennifer:
I woke up this morning with this exact question on my mind and wa la!…here’s the answer.
Cool!
Thanks!
Cool list!
Thanks for sharing!!!
Hi,
I love this article. I find it is very informative. My question is: What to do if you are just starting and you have no reliable list of prospective clients? If so which of these marketing techniques can work to start building a list through teleseminars?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Two more to add to your list would borrow from social media marketing tactics which I routinely coach clients on:
1) Creating a short video speaking to WHO should come and WHAT the benefits promised are — and syndicating that video with reference to your personal branding site (where the registration details can be found, but is still relevant after the event has passed) to YouTube, Vimeo and other video sharing sites. I teach my clients how to syndicate video clips like this in automated fashion to 20+ sites for the broadest reach.
2) Arrange for blog interviews on the subject with niche blogs of your target audience’s community on the social web. Offering a guest blog post in a “Q & A interview” style where you prepare a *non-salesy* subject interview in advance for them to do final edits/tweak is a great way to get in front of new audiences where someone else has already done the work to cultivate “the list” and readership.
Hope those ideas help!

Thanks Jennifer. This is great list. Very useful.
I have two clients that are just starting to do teleseminars, so this was a perfect pass along. You are making me look good.
I will definitely keep on reference for myself. Thank you so much as always.
@Nora My pleasure!
Jennifer – Thanks for such a comprehensive list – I’m going to share this with my coaching clients!
And thank you for listing SeeYouOnTheCall.com as a resource -we are a free newsletter that goes out weekly, and webinar and event hosts can pay a small fee for maximum exposure for their webinar, teleseminar, or product launch to our newsletter list and Twitter following.
