Get Clients with Gratitude

Years ago I discovered the effects of gratitude on my everyday life. Since then I have focused on being grateful for the people and opportunities around me. It’s one of the many reasons that I wake up happy in the mornings. My gratitude for the people around me brings opportunities my way. To make sure I stay in a “state of gratitude” I spend a few minutes each night on being aware of what I have to be grateful for.

Gratitude is an important element in building your client base. When you’re grateful, you realize how wonderful the people around you are and how many fantastic opportunities are available to you. The realization of how much you have to be thankful for brings more opportunities to you.

For example, clients work with people that they Know, Like and Trust. By expressing your gratitude, you build relationships with your clients and potential clients. Expressing your gratitude helps your clients learn to like you because they feel appreciated and important. Acting in gratitude makes your clients feel heard, valued, and relevant. When you are grateful for you clients you look for opportunities to network for them and connect them. This “state of gratitude” makes it easier for you to give. Giving creates value. Offering real value attracts clients to you.

We have all been overloaded with work and personal obligations, while having a client who was difficult and frustrating. It can make the nicest person cross. When a situation like that happens and you’re frustrated, your attitude (or mindset) chases away clients, both old and new.

Being grateful affects your mood because it makes you happier and more appreciative. The joy you feel radiates out towards your clients and it’s contagious. When you are grateful and giving thanks for all the opportunities and successes that come your way, you attract more success and more opportunities. Your behavior inspires the people around you to become grateful too, which motivates them to provide more value.

Gratitude in business is profitable. It gets clients, referrals and gains client loyalty.

To help you harness the power of gratefulness, do this fun fieldwork exercise”

Every night for the next week, take a few minutes and list out five things you are grateful for. They may be big things like your family or friends, or just small things like someone holding the door open for you.

Pay attention to how this awareness affects your attitude and view on life over the next week. Keep an eye on how it affects your business.
