Are Link Shorteners Making Your Email Spam?

There has been a lot of buzz lately about link shorteners and email delivery rates. If you send out an ezine, newsletter or email blasts be aware that several link shorteners have been blacklisted as spam.

This means if you send out an email to your list with a shortened link from one of these services your email will be marked as SPAM.

The URL shorteners that I am being told are blacklisted are:

  • bit.ly
  • ow.ly
  • su.pr
  • lnk.co
  • cli.gs
  • fur.ly
  • twurl.nl
  • short.ie
